Data Governance Learn and Lunch Series of Seminars (Start Avg 30, 2023)

Welcome to the Adsotech Learn and Lunch series on Data Governance!

Data Governance plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of an organization's data assets.

To help you navigate this complex and evolving field, we have designed a series of five interactive sessions with expert speakers that will provide you with an understanding of Data Governance and its various components. Each seminar will take place at the Adsotech office in Keilaranta 1, Espoo, Finland. 

During the five seminars, you will learn about the Data Governance framework, its challenges, its impact on the business.

The dates for the sessions are Wednesday 30.8, Monday 25.9, Wednesday 25.10, Monday 27.11 & Monday 11.12. All the events will run from 9:00AM until midday and will be followed by lunch.

To gain the maximum benefit of the training, participants are encouraged to attend each event. Recordings will be available in case the registered person cannot participate in an event.

30.8.23 - Workshop 1: Introduction to Data Governance with Guest Key Speaker Emily Washington, SVP Verify Product Management, Precisely

In this session, we will lay the foundation by exploring the fundamental concepts and principles of Data Governance. We will discuss why Data Governance is essential for organizations, its benefits, and key challenges. By the end of this session, you will have a solid understanding of the concepts and terminology of Data Governance, the importance of Data Governance and its impact on your business.

25.9.23 - Workshop 2: Defining the Metadata Model with Guest Key Speaker Kimmo Kontra, Partner at Tarento Group

During this session, we will dive deep into the concept of metadata and its vital role in managing and governing data assets for effective Data Governance both from the business perspective as well as the technical view. We will explore various types of metadata, discuss best practices for defining metadata models, and demonstrate how leveraging metadata can actively enhance data quality and ensure compliance. As an exercise to do after the event, each delegate will analyze what the metadata model in their own environment would be. The results will be analysed in individual Teams sessions before the next seminar day end of October.

25.10.23 - Workshop 3: The Data Governance Organization with Guest Key Speaker from Petri Hassinen, Head of Data, Metsä Group

Building a successful Data Governance program requires a well-defined organizational structure. In this session, we will discuss the key roles, responsibilities, and governance committees that should be established to support effective Data Governance. We will also cover strategies for fostering collaboration and ensuring accountability within the Data Governance organization.

27.11.23 - Workshop 4: Solutions to Automate Data Governance 

In this session, we will showcase a live product demonstration. The final session will focus on practical steps to implement a Data Governance program within your organization. We will discuss the key components of a successful implementation, including stakeholder engagement, communication strategies, change management, and ongoing monitoring and measurement. 

By the end of this session, you will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to kickstart or enhance your Data Governance program.
